FIELD OF APPLICATION
The KÖSTER CFR 1
is a flexible, crack-bridging
sealant that is resistant
to pressurised water.
It bonds to all mineral
substrates, wood or metal.
Further, it is an excellent
flexible sealing compound
for expansion joints.
SUBSTRATE
The substrate has to be
dry, clean, free of loose
particles, laitance and
other contaminants that
might affect the bonding
adversely.
APPLICATION
Melt the KÖSTER CFR
1 in a bitumen heater
equipped with a paddle,
while increasing the temperature
to a minimum of 150°C
/302°F. The heater
should have a thermostat.
Do not overheat the sealing
mass. The maximum temperature
must not exceed 180°C
/356°F, because higher
temperatures would damage
the rubber component in
the material. The conventional
method for the application
of KÖSTER CFR 1 is
the pouring method with
a pouring can, pouring
pot or a pouring pail.
Cover the whole surface
and spread it with a brush
or broom or simply fill
the joints.

After cooling down of
the mass with KÖSTER
Bitumen Remover.

SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
Stick to the safety precautions
that are necessary for
the application of hot
bitumen. Apply only in
sufficiently ventilated
areas.
