DESCRIPTION
The KB-PUR®
IN 1 is a water
activated hydrophobic
MDI based polyurethane
isocyanate foam.
The system only
reacts if it has
contact with water.
It then expands
to a stiff, waterproof
polyurethane foam.
KB-PUR® IN 1
is free of solvents
and fillers; it
is resistant to
hydrolysis and is
suitable for use
in drinking water
areas (KTW-Test).
KB-PUR IN 1 consists
of a resin and a
special catalyst
that is supplied
separately to allow
on-site adjustments
of gel-time and
to provide a long
shelf life. KB-PUR®
IN 1 reacts and
expands within the
crack and thus replaces
the water with a
stiff closed cell
PU foam.

DESCRIPTION
The KB-PUR®
IN 2 is a solvent
and filler free,
low viscosity, 2
component,elastic
polyurethane-injection
resin for sealing
of live (moving)
cracks.
The KB-PUR®
IN 2 is permanently
elastic and is designed
to withstand continuous
contraction and
expansion and is
thus ideal for repair
of moving cracks.
By sealing the crack
with a flexible
resin, the crack
is converted into
an equivalent of
an expansion joint
and movement can
thus continue without
leakage or damage
to the structure.
KB-PUR® IN 2
is suitable for
use with potable
(drinking) water
applications.

FIELD
OF APPLICATION
Used for stopping
pressurised water
in cracks and joints
temporarily. KB-PUR®IN
1 is always used
in conjunction with
a solid resin KB-PUR®
system such as KB-PUR®IN
2. It is designed
as a tool to help
placing solid resin
systems in a crack
when high water
pressure does not
allow such.
APPLICATION
Adapt material temperature
to room temperature-
or surrounding temperature.
The KB-PUR®
IN 1 is extremely
sensitive to moisture.
Apply it immediately,
or it will react
and cure after app.
2 - 3 hours. The
substrate has to
be dry to damp and
free of loose particles,
dust, oil, grease,
form oil and other
contaminants that
might affect the
bonding adversely.
Before application
can commence, grout
ports (screw type
preferred) should
be placed. Mark
pattern for drilling
holes; holes should
be staggered on
each side of the
crack, they should
be angled 450 towards
the wall and drilled
so that they intercept
the crack in the
middle. Remove drilling
dust from holes,
tap a grout port
into each hole and
tighten sufficiently.
Large crack openings
or voids can be
sealed using KB-Fix
or similar quick
set mortars. To
ensure a good reaction
and that the
packers are placed
correctly, we recommend
injecting generous
amounts of water
beforehand ? remember
to clean the equipment
before pouring the
resin to avoid premature
reactions.
APPLICATION
Add the KB-PUR®
IN 1 CAT to the
KB-PUR® IN 1
resin and mix thoroughly
with a slow speed
mixer until a homogeneous
mixture is obtained
(avoid mixing humid
air into the resin).
Inject the material
with conventional
single component
pumps with high
or low pressure.
Always start at
the bottom and continue
upwards, if in doubt,
go back and inject
the same packer
once again. Water
will be replaced
by the rigid closed
cell foam and can
no longer pass through
the crack.
KB-PUR® IN 1
should always be
followed with an
injection of one
KB-PUR® IN 2
solid resins. The
waiting time between
should ideally be
between 10 and 15
minutes so that
the foam cells still
are weak enough
to allow a good
penetration of the
solid resin and
thus ensures a better
end result. Please
refer to our Injection
guide for further
details.
CONSUMPTION

suitable water free
solvents.

FIELD
OF APPLICATION
For sealing water-bearing
cracks and joints
in concrete, screed
or masonry. When repairing
water bearing cracks,
KB-PUR®IN 2 should
always be used in
conjunction with KB-PUR®IN
1. Dry cracks, joints
and voids as well
as wet and damp cracks
can be injected directly
without the aid of
KB-PUR®IN 1. KB-PUR®
IN 2 is suitable for
elastic crack filling
? especially in situations
where it cannot be
ascertained that the
crack has no movement.
KB-PUR®IN 2 will
fill the crack completely,
bond well to the substrate
and resist future
movements permanently.
PREPARATION
OF SUBSTRATE
The substrate has
to be dry to damp
and free of loose
particles, dust,
oil, grease, form
oil and other contaminants
that might affect
the bonding adversely.
Before application
can commence, injection
packers should be
placed. Mark pattern
for drilling holes,
holes should be
staggered on each
side of the crack,
they should be angled
450 towards the
wall and drilled
so that they intercept
the crack in the
middle. Remove drilling
dust from holes,
tap an injection
packer into each
hole and tighten
sufficiently. Large
crack openings or
voids can be sealed
using KB-Fix or
similar quick set
mortars.
APPLICATION
Mix both components
thoroughly with
a slow speed mixer
until a homogeneous
mixture is obtained.
Fill the mixture
into another container
and mix again. Inject
the material with
conventional injection
devices with high
or low pressure.
Always start at
the bottom and continue
upwards, if in doubt,
go back and inject
the same packer
once again. Water
bearing cracks should
be treated beforehand
using Köster
KB-PUR® IN 1,
please refer to
relevant data sheets
or our Injection
Manual. Horizontal
cracks in concrete
(>1 mm crack
width) can be sealed
simply by pouring
the material
into it. Please
note that KB-PUR®
IN 2 is water reactive
and will foam until
a certain degree,
if exposed to water
and high humidity
CONSUMPTION
1.1 kg/l void
