PROPERTIES
Koster SB-Bonding liquid is
a water based plasticizer
free dispersion based
on a carboxylated butadiene-styrene-rubber.
Koster SB Bonding Emulsion
is compatible to all standard
cements because of its
non-ionic stabilisation.

FIELD OF APPLICATION
•
It is mainly used as an
additive to NB Sealing
Slurries providing a plastifying
effect and thus a smooth
application. It increases
the water retention and
thus prevents a too fast
curing, improves the bonding
to the substrate, increases
the elasticity and the
resistance to aggressive
components of the soil.
•
It provides excellent
adhesion to masonry, plaster,
concrete and screed if
combined with cement and
sand.
•
Creates bonding and repair
mortars as well as thin
bonding mortars.
•
Mortar additive for levelling
screeds up to zero levelling.
•
Creates water-tight layers,
e.g. repair plasters and
screeds. Improves the
flexural tensile strength
of concrete and mortar
considerably, by reducing
contraction cracking.
•
High abrasion resistance
and creation of dust-free
plasters and screeds.
•
Considerable improvement
of frost and thaw resistance
of mortar and concrete.
•
For the reduction of the
permeability to oil and
solvents.
•
Improvement of the chemical
resistance.

As mortar additive and
corrosion protection for
metal surfaces.

Resists sulphates, chlorides

SURFACE
Brush away dust and loose
particles. Clean oily
and heavily soiled surfaces
with cleaning agents and
remove them by subsequent
watering. Sand blasting
may be necessary. Wet
the surface thoroughly,
but avoid puddles.
APPLICATION &
USES
1. MODIFICATION OF NB-SEALING
SLURRIES
Replace 15 - 20 % of the
mixing water with Koster SB-Bonding
Emulsion.
2. BONDING BRIDGE
Mix Koster SB-Bonding Emulsion
with water 1:2, with a
cement/sand mixture (1:2)
and create a slurry and
apply it with a firm brush.
Consumption app. 200 g/m²
Koster SB Bonding Emulsion.
GENERAL MORTAR
AND CONCRETE ADDITIVE
Gives mortar and concrete
a plastic consistency
acc. to valid DIN regulations.
Adding of 5 - 20 % Koster
SB-Bonding Emulsion in
relation to the cement
weight will produce ultimate
concrete and mortar properties.
Thinner coats require
more and thicker layers
less Koster SB-Bonding Emulsion.
Mortars for featheredging
and zero thickness applications
can likewise easily be
made using SB Bonding
Emulsion.
The achieved mechanical
properties depend considerably
on the quality of the
other components (cement,
sieve line, amount of
mix water and follow-up
treatment).
Always, add Koster SB-Bonding
Emulsion to the mix water.

STORAGE
In sealed containers,
cool and free of frost.
Re-seal open containers
tightly. Sedimentation
might occur after prolonged
storage and stirring to
a uniform consistency
is required. Permanent
exposure to more than
300 C/95°F should
be avoided.
SHELF LIFE
24 months in original
sealed containers
PLEASE NOTE
Avoid direct contact with
copper and manganese ions
because rubber is sensitive
to them as all butadiene
/copolymerisates are.
SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
Avoid eye contact (wear
protective goggles).
